Government of Karnataka in its budget for the year 2016-17, committed to the establishment of Centre of
Excellence for Farmers Producers Organizations (CoE-FPO) for the overall development of Farmers Producer Organizations (FPO) in Karnataka promoted by the Karnataka State Department of Horticulture.
As per the Government Order –DOH17/2017 Bengaluru dated 30-03-2017, the Government of
Karnataka issued necessary directions to establish CoE-FPO under Karnataka Societies Registration Act
1960. The COE-FPO was registered on 21-08-2017 The Registered Office of COE-FPO is located at the
University of Horticultural Sciences Campus, GKVK Post, Bengaluru-560065, Karnataka, India.

Farmer Focussed - Growth to Excellnce
It was envisaged that an exclusive institutional mechanism is essential to support and handhold these FPOs at state level and guide them for their overall development, it was proposed to set up a Centre of Excellence for FPOs (CoE-FPO) to handhold and guide the FPOs to grow into effective business enterprises working for the socio-economic advancement of their member-farmers.
